Lucas' refusal to release the theatrical version proves how Pinko Commie he truly is. The public would love to throw money at him and he refuses. Perhaps, the reason we all hate the "special editions" is because the theatrical versions are unavailable. If we had the choice, we would probably watch and enjoy both versions. (depending on our mood at the time)
