Jon, Scott and Phil with Pete making a late appearance on this one. We present a happy Boxing Day to you with a few arguments as we take a lot of time to go over our individual lists of (what we individually feel) overrated movies. Many of the picks are obviously wrong. Also, keep in mind that we actually recorded this one well before Christmas and around the same time as Paul Walker's unfortunate death (which explains our talking about Christmas in the future tense and Paul Walker's death as happening "that week").

Geeking Off 130: Trailer Clash
I must say that lately I haven't appreciated music in movies, but I'll always have a place in my heart for music in trailers. Apparently music is the trailer's secret weapon. Phil joins us again to discuss trailer faves.

Geeking Off 129: Phillin' In
Phil (our only listener) paid us $100 to join us this time to chat up our recent movie watchings. This means a 45-minute conversation about Catching Fire. A few other flicks are discussed, including Jon's biggest theater mistake of the year.

Geeking Off 128: Jon's Ticket Stubs and 2013 Small Timers
Get your patience upgraded before you listen to Jon talk about every movie he saw in the theater going all the way back to May. Seeing movies for free means A LOT of flicks. Since this recording, Jon has seen Thor: The Dark World, The Counselor, Dallas Buyer's Club, About Time and Hunger Games: Catching Fire (only one of these was no good). Talk to him in person for an opinion about those.
Toward the end of this recording the rest of the crew ups the pretension by laying claim to seeing some of the least seen movies of the year so far (and beating Jon at that game).

Geeking Off 127: Zo's Scary Month
Zo spent the entire month of October on the couch continuously watching scary movies (including one about a small dick guy for some reason). Hear and tremble at his report!

Geeking Off 126: Three Recent Things
We're back because we miss talking.
It's been a while so our conversation is on the old side. We went over a 2013 Tarantino movie list, spoke briefly on the future of DC movies and spoke of some pretty strong feelings regarding Ender's Game.

Geeking Off 125: Depeche Mode 102
Alrighty, this one's way different than usual.
Scott and Jon were away from the official Geeking Off studio when they went to San Francisco to see a Depeche Mode concert (not nearly as gay as it sounds), but they did have access to the iPhone's voice memo feature during the drive home. This is a report from the field on the Mountain View Depeche Mode concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.
Don't like Depeche Mode? Listen anyway. We dare you. You will likely love the band after this conversation (or possibly hate them much more).
Obviously the audio's not as good as usual, but all the words can be heard. Don't worry.

Geeking Off 124: Theatrical Movies So Far This Year
You may be wondering why we don't discuss either Star Trek Into Darkness or Fast & Furious 6. This was recorded a couple of weeks ago. Obviously. Greetings from the past! In this recording, Jeremy and Jon tell Zo what 2013 films they've seen, up until Zo got bored and left. At that point, Jeremy and Jon continued talking at each other for some reason.
We also slightly discussed this picture:
Here's the play by play. Don't get used to this.

Geeking Off 123: Cumminsun
Our discussion is about upcoming movies. This may be confusing, however because we sort of started mid-conversation about Scott's bad experience with The Great Gatsby. The upcoming movie talk starts at about 14 minutes. We pretty much get through the summer films before time restraints forced us to stop. As usual, a strange amount of time is spent on this year's Fast & Furious movie.

Geeking Off 122: Anatal or Digilogue?
"... and I for one praise our new digital overlords." This week Scott enlightens us on how his new meat smoker is an allegory for the current film industry. Jeremy pipes in with various filmmaking corrections. Ultimately, what we're really talking about is what the documentary Side by Side makes us think about. Digital has pretty much won against digital. Are we happy or sad?

Geeking Off 120: The Imdb Trivia Game (Scott Edition)
Only two of us showed up for recording so we had another sweet edition of the Imdb Trivia Game! Mercifully 10 minutes of thinking noise has been edited out. Can you score better than us? Not bloody likely. Listen and don't even try. There. Victory by default.

Geeking Off 119: 2013 Oscar Predictions
You may hear a vivid trace of non-offensiveness in your ears. That's because Zo decided not to join this time around. As a result we've had our most civilized discussion in years. The Oscars are on Sunday so hurry and give this one a listen. Whaddya think? Lincoln or Argo. I, of course, am still holding out for Anna Karenina.
